About Us

We started Defang as practitioners who had spent years building both cloud applications and the platforms beneath them, and who were frustrated by how hard it still was to create, deploy, and operate software in the cloud. Just to ship, developers had to become experts in an overwhelming range of architectures, providers, services, and configurations. So we built the Defang Platform to take that complexity away: describe your application and deploy it to your own cloud account — on AWS, GCP, or Azure — in a single step, with sound security, configuration, and portability built in. Your software runs in infrastructure you own, with no lock-in.

Since then, AI has begun to reshape how software gets built. Adopting AI is the easy part; capturing its value is the hard part. The returns don’t come from making one task faster. They come from making the entire engineering workflow AI-native, from design and coding through testing, deployment, and operations. Yet in the rush to adopt, many organizations hand their cloud, models, and data to a single vendor. We believe becoming AI-native should never mean becoming vendor-native.
